Can you really ship your products?
Yes we can. Some of our foods, like cookies, breads, candies, and biscotti, are easy to ship. Others, like cakes and tarts, require a little more care. Each of our partner bakeries has extensive experience in shipping their products. We receive sample shipments from each bakery during their evaluation process to ensure that their foods arrive fresh and in perfect condition. We also test any freshness claims that they make. When you order from us, you can be confident that your purchase will arrive fresh, intact, and ready to enjoy.
What shipping services do you use?
Overnight and Saturday shipping are mainly delivered through Federal Express and United Parcel Service, though some of our partner bakeries use Express Mail from the U.S. Postal Service. Second-day shipping is provided through United Parcel Service, Federal Express, and Priority Mail from the U.S. Postal Service.
Where can your products be shipped?
We ship to all addresses within the continental United States.
Saturday delivery may not be available in some rural areas. Please note that Saturday deliveries to universities and hospitals may not be available if their receiving departments are closed.
Delivery to U.S. military bases may not be available through some shipping services.

How can I track my order?
We will send you a linked tracking number in your Shipment Confirmation e-mail. This e-mail will not be sent until your product has been shipped.
- Orders placed before 2PM Eastern typically ship the same day.
- Orders placed after 2PM Eastern typically ship the next day.
- Orders placed after 2PM Eastern Wednesday will ship the following Monday when Second Day Air delivery is chosen.
- Orders placed after 2PM Eastern Thursday will ship the following Monday unless Saturday delivery is chosen.
- All orders placed after 2PM Eastern Friday will ship the following Monday.
You can track your order by clicking on the linked tracking number in your Shipment Confirmation e-mail.
You can also track your order from any computer by typing the number into Google search.
Why do orders placed late in the week or on weekends ship on Monday?
Your satisfaction with your purchase is essential to us. We want your products to arrive fresh and ready to enjoy. Rather than have our foods spend the weekend in a warehouse or delivery truck, we ship on Monday to minimize the travel time from the bakery to your door.
Why is your shipping more expensive than your competitors'?
Our shipping prices are based on the per-parcel rates set by Federal Express, United Parcel Service, and the U.S. Postal Service. Because our products ship directly from neighborhood bakeries instead of a central warehouse, we cannot combine orders or qualify for volume discounts like some online retailers.
Our partner bakeries charge for shipping according to their costs, including packing fees, with no additional markups. Any handling charges are included in the price of our products. Some shipping options may not be available at certain times of year.
Some of our competitors offer free or discount shipping by hiding the shipping costs in the price of their products. We choose to be up front about our product pricing and shipping. This gives you the chance to save money on shipping by choosing the lowest-cost option and does not penalize customers who place smaller orders.
Can you deliver this item by tomorrow?
If an order is placed before 2PM Eastern and next-day shipping is available as an option, it will arrive the next day. Next-day delivery for orders placed after 2PM Eastern is at the discretion of the partner bakery and may require additional shipping charges. Please call us 1-800-287-9870 until 6PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, for more information.
Can I choose the time my shipment will arrive?
We are currently unable to provide a time of day when shipments will arrive. Delivery time is dependent on a number of factors, including the shipping method chosen, the shipping company, and the delivery location. We provide standard overnight shipping on all of our products, and they are typically delivered by 2PM in the local time zone. When you receive your Tracking Number in your Shipment Confirmation e-mail, you can check with the shipping company to get an estimate of when the product will arrive.
Can I choose the day my purchase will arrive? Yes, you just need to tell us in the Future Delivery Date field at checkout. Our goal is to minimize the travel time between the bakery and your door, so we typically ship at the earliest possible date after an order is received, unless you specifically choose a delivery date in the comment field at checkout. We are limited by the delivery areas and service of Federal Express, United Parcel Service, and the U.S. Postal Service.
Can my products be delivered on Sunday or Monday?
Sunday delivery is not available at this time. Monday delivery is available for products that ship in airtight containers or that are durable. You'll find those products in the Monday Delivery area on our site.
Why is next-day shipping the only option for a product?
We rely on the expertise of our partner bakeries to determine the best shipping methods for our foods. Since some products are more perishable than others, next-day or overnight shipping is the only option that we can offer. Some of our cakes and tarts must be shipped using next-day delivery during the warm summer months from May 1 to September 30.
Can you notify someone that I have sent them a gift?
Please send an e-mail to ChefSteve@1-800-Bakery.com, or reply to your Order Confirmation e-mail, and we will be happy to send a gift recipient a personalized message and a picture of the product you have ordered. We will be adding the ability to send a gift notification e-mail to the site in Winter 2006.
What should I do if I am unhappy with my products?
Please call us at 1-800-287-9870 between 8AM and 6PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, or e-mail ChefSteve@1-800-Bakery.com at any time if you have a concern about the quality or freshness of anything you order. Your satisfaction is essential to us, and should one of our products fail to meet your expectations, we will provide a replacement or substitute of your choice.
We cannot accept liability for shipping delays or damages that result from extraordinary circumstances, incomplete or incorrect addresses, or intentional mishandling of shipments. Any replacement or substitution may not exceed the original value of the product purchase price. |
