The King Cake is a traditional part of Carnival celebrations. The round shape and purple, green, and gold icing recall the crowns worn by the Three Wise Men when they visited Bethlehem. Each cake has a toy baby baked inside--whoever gets the prize has to supply the King Cake for next year's Carnival.
