For more than four decades, King Cakes from Randazzo's have been a cherished part of New Orleans' Carnival and Mardi Gras celebrations. The bakery's commitment that everything is "made with love from beginning to end" is a big part of their success. As longtime fans of their King Cakes moved outside the Louisiana area, Randazzo's responded by shipping their cakes nationwide. In 2005, the bakery shipped more than 25,000 cakes.Hurricane Katrina almost destroyed the business, leaving the Slidell location under four feet of water. Owner Tricia Zornes was determined to rebuild, believing that her dedication to bring back her business would encourage others to do the same. In January 2006, a refurbished Randazzo's began baking again, and Zornes hopes to double her King Cake shipments this year. |
