For the past 20 years, Stephen Pazyra (Chef Steve) has built an award winning bakery called La Patisserie in Winchester, Massachusetts with his wife, Danette. Together, they have worked and re-worked recipes to set their bakery among the best in New England. In 1997 bought the URL 1-800-Bakery.com in hopes of one day setting up a website to sell his own bakery products nationwide. Chef Steve in early 2004 got the idea, Why not make 1-800-Bakery.com a collection of the best bakeries in the whole country. After all, there is no better New York Cheesecake than that from a cozy bakery in the heart of New York City, and who would knows how to make a better King Cake than the best bakery in New Orleans. He was convinced this would work by the realization of what this truly would do for his customers. It would allow them to travel all over America and let them visit the best bakeries and buy the highest-quality bakery products without even leaving their computer chairs.
Since then, 1-800-Bakery.com has evolved and changed into a continually
growing database of American bakeries and their products. Starting from only
La Patisserie and three of Chef Steves other favorite bakeries, the website
now contains over a dozen bakeries and more than 100 of their products.
