Did you know? There are many different kinds of petit fours. The ones on our site are the Glacé kind - glazed. These type of petit fours are iced or covered with rolled fondant, then hand-decorated.

There are also Sec petit fours (dry) - not iced, like puff pastries, and Salé (salted), which are like the appetizers you'd see on a tray at a cocktail party - little savory treats.

How are there so many different kinds of petit fours? "Petit four" means "small oven" referring to the heat setting (not the size) on the old coal ovens used in France during the 1800's.
